Almost always, the first week in January is the coldest week of the year, and it looks like this year will be no exception. Since our house is nowhere near finished, it will probably be a cold couple of weeks!
The greenhouse and tunnels are still performing admirably, but the freeze we get over the next few days will push them to their limits. The good news is, January 14th is “daylight day,” the day we go over 10 hours of daylight. That is the amount of sunlight researchers have determined is needed to get get real growth out of most cold-hardy vegetables. So we are ordering seeds now to be ready for D-Day.
